A previous customer asked us to carry out a Full Valet on her daughter's 2006 Audi A4 estate. This was the vehicle on arrival:
From a distance, the car didn't seem too bad. Closer inspection however, revealed some issues. Firstly, the interior was a mess, including considerable amounts of Jack Russell hair. The exterior also had some problems, the main one being the amount of scratching present. It looked as though it had been washed constantly with a yard brush!
We started with using a citrus based cleaner solution as a pre-wash. Having sprayed the entire vehicle, door shuts, wheel arches and fuel filler area with the pre-wash solution, this was allowed to dwell for a few minutes before being rinsed off with the pressure washer.
The wheels were then cleaned thoroughly. Then the vehicle was sprayed with a foaming shampoo, and then washed with washmitts. Then the tar spots were removed from the paintwork, before a final rinse with filtered water. The vehicle was then dried using microfibre drying towels.
The interior was thoroughly vacuumed. The dog hair we mentioned earlier took over an hour to remove. The fabric seas, carpets and mats were then shampooed using a dedicated fabric shampoo using an extraction cleaner. The interior plastics were then cleaned, as was the interior glass.
This then took us to the exterior. As previously mentioned, the paintwork was very badly scratched and swirled. It was obvious that it would need to be machine polished to stand any chance of improving the appearance. So we spent some time machine polishing the paintwork, before applying a titanium based sealant for protection. The trim and tyres were dressed, and the exterior glass cleaned. This resulted in the vehicle looking as follows:
The deeper colour and higher gloss are immediately evident, and made the hard work worthwhile. To further reinforce the difference achieved, take a look at this slideshow of before and after pictures
